What is Blue Mountain and why we’re organizing a 2-night trip for the class?
Blue Mountain is one of Ontario’s top winter destinations, built around a pedestrian village with ski hills and a wide mix of activities. It’s about a 2 hour drive from Western University, which makes it close enough for an easy class trip but far enough to feel like a real getaway. The resort offers beginner and intermediate ski runs, snowshoeing, tubing, skating, scenic hikes, spas, and plenty of restaurants and cafés in the village. We’re organizing a two-night trip so the class can unwind together, enjoy the winter season, and take a break from the busy academic stretch.
**What is included in your ticket? **
Your ticket includes two overnight stays at a nearby hotel on January 23 and 24, as well as round-trip transportation from the Ivey campus. We’re also planning several class events during the trip, including a social at one of the village restaurants or bars and a few additional group activities. We’re still finalizing what portions of these events will be covered, since most of the budget is focused on accommodations and transportation. Any remaining funds will go toward providing snacks and drinks at the social.
To clarify, the ticket price does not include food, skiing or other paid activities in the village. If you plan to ski or snowboard, it’s a good idea to check pricing early since rates can change quickly.
Can we bring +1s?
Yes, +1s are welcome. Their ticket price will be higher, and we’ll share those details soon.
**What’s next? **
We’ll be confirming final details and launching ticket sales by the end of November. More information to come.
