The Ivey MBA Operations and Supply Chain Club exists for both students interested in pursuing a job in these sectors, and those simply interested in learning more about the subject matter. The topic “Operations and Supply Chain” encompasses a wide range of topics, including but not limited to: planning, distribution, manufacturing, site operations, environmental management, procurement, and health & safety. For the 2018-2019 year, the executive team wants to see the club members engage in multiple site tours and “field trips” to expose students to manufacturing sites. Furthermore, the club exists to share ideas through lunch-and-learn sessions, and provide support for networking events – especially in the last three months of the year (“Just in Time hiring”). The club will also host midterm and final exam revision sessions for the Operations class taught during the Core curriculum. Lastly, the executive team believes it is important that the club actively engage in cross-club events because operations are at the core of any firm. By interacting with other clubs, knowledge can be shared more easily; this club does not exist to operate in a silo, it must be actively involved in the MBAA and class activities for both MBA and AMBA students.
